about

Originally released as the B-side of their 1995 single called Trials and Tribulations, on the bands short lived City of Romance label, "Trout" explodes right out of the gate with dynamic guitar work reminiscent of bands like Fugazi and Hoover. Ebbing and flowing between harsh chord progressions and soft interludes it is Grain at their most refined and perfected.

lyrics

Weighted problem it drags me down deeper inside
Frustrated by the scars I just can't hide
Break the surface feel the tension drag me back down
Move ahead against the current that pulls me along
It's bringing me to my knees I don't want to hurt anymore
I've been running far too long I don't want to run anymore
I put myself in this picture (a picture is worth a thousand words)
I want this picture to burn I want this pretty little picture to burn
I pull the trigger I eat the gun
